I’m no volcanologist but it looks like the threat of more eruptions by the Grimsvoetn volcano in Iceland is very low now. That’s not to say that other volcanoes won’t erupt: the Hekla volcano (also in Iceland) has erupted roughly every 10 years for the past 60 years. It last erupted in 2000 and so we’re overdue for another one!
Iceland isn’t the only country with troublesome volcanoes. This week, ash from a volcano in Chile in South America (which erupted last weekend) forced airlines in Argentina to cancel lots of flights. So, to answer your question…. yes, I think we will have more ash clouds (but maybe not from the same volcano, at least for a while)!
