the only time was when I was studying my A-levels, I went to the storeroom to collect some concentrated nitric acid for an experiment we were doing, as I needed some other things too, I put the tube of acid in my pocket…. it melted right through the plastic lid, leaked through my pocket and gave me quite a nasty burn on my leg 🙁

since then I’ve tried to be extra careful, and fortunately haven’t had any more injuries!

Not that I can remember, at least nothing serious… touch wood! Having an accident either on a ship or in a chemical lab can be pretty serious business…

No actually. And I am pretty clumsy. Maybe I just a bit more careful when around sharp rocks and geophysics surveying tools (like dynamite!)

I’ve not been injured, but whilst doing some field work on the Isle of Skye, in Scotland, I fell down a hole in a field, full of mud. I manged to drag myself out, but I was caked in mud up to my waist. With hindsight, it was very funny, but at the time it was pretty terrifying!

I don’t get to do much fieldwork, so I haven’t had an injury. I have been clumsy enough to get my finger trapped in a door at work before, though. The nail went all swollen and black and fell off after a few months. It’s nearly grown back now! I’m not sure I should be allowed near dangerous things, I’m clearly too clumsy.
