      It’s all the bits left over from the process of nuclear fission. So it is whatever is left over from the nuclear process, much of it is radioactive so it is stored really carefully in storage pods under water to absorb the radiation. Other bits of it can be reprocessed into waste we can dispose of safely, or into fuel we can reuse for something else.
