• Question: i just think that most of the proof goes to god but still the world think that it is the big bang that made it. Sometimes when this discussion come up they make me think that the big bang is the creation but then i thought that they both happen because in Genesis is says let there be light and there was a bang and there was light.

      Hi James,

      My personal belief is that there is no God or other higher power who created the Universe. However, the concept of the Big Bang and a God are not impossible to put together. I know that my dad, who was a Vicar, very much believed in the Big Bang and God, he believed that God created the big bang to set everything in motion.

      I would say that we have lots of evidence for the Big Bang and the way that the Earth was formed, but there is no evidence to formally say that God didn’t cause that Big Bang, however that is not what I believe.

      This is always a tricky area, I respect everyone’s right to religious beliefs and while it is not mine, I have no problem with people believing in both God and the Big Bang.
