Yes! I found it really difficult to get my grades up in A-Levels. I was proud to end up with a C in Chemistry, an A in Biology and a B in Maths in the end!

GCSEs were okay – if you really get a good revision plan down that you stick to, getting a good grade can be possible.

And if you miss out on your grades – do not worry! i had a friend who got an E in A-Level Biology who is a doctor today so anything is possible if you want to achieve it 🙂

Yes, I was never academic at school. I had to work really hard to get where I have. Science I liked, but that didn’t actually mean I got good grades! Do your best, that’s all anyone can ask. There are many opportunities in life and sometimes it’s about doing things with what you have achieved.

Yes, even though I did well in my exams, it wasn’t easy. I had to study and practice a lot to make it happen, and there were lots of times when I thought I wasn’t good enough to be a scientist. And I kept on going.

Yes all the time! Physics was my worst subject and I always had the worst grades in Physics, but I persevered because I really wanted to do astronomy. Sometimes it feels good to struggle through something – it feels amazing when you’ve finally understood it. So because of that I usually end up learning about the things that I find a bit more challenging.
