      I don’t really know (mostly because I don’t know enough young people!).

      I think it will depend on what they’re doing on social media (#SoMe).
      There are so many positives about SoMe, so if used well then yes! It’s also easy to be distracted and lose focus on any learning. If someone is just using SnapChat, Instagram, What’sApp / Kik then they’re possibly not going to be learning about science, unless they are in a science group chat. Although cute cat videos might be teaching them about animal behaviour ???

      Also the access to SoMe means that sometimes there information overload and it’s hard to know what is good information & a reliable source. There’s a lot of misinformation out there too.

      I’m not sure. There’s lots of science-y videos on places like YouTube, but they tend to focus on stuff that looks impressive, rather than actually talk about the science. Also I’m a bit old and don’t really use the same social media as young people, so probably can’t say.
