Prevention greatly helps as less people will get sick as the sickness passes around. However, we do still need a cure so that people who do get sick can recvover quicker. It is very hard to prevent everyone from the sickness as we are all different and are able to fight off viruses (for example) better or worse than others. Another thing to note is that getting sick is annoying for a few days because you don’t feel well but it can be a positve too. Your body learns to make antbodies that fight against it. This means that you can fight it off qiucker next time it comes into your body.
Yea, I think that the best way to stop disease spreading and to help more people is prevention. If you don’t have people contracting the disease you have less people to cure and it is less likely it will spread further.
However this is an ideal situation, and unfortunately we cannot stop illnesses spreading as easily as we would like – especially in a world where we interact with so many different people on any given day. Therefore we need the cures to make sure that we can stop illness and disease once they are spreading.
Yes, it certainly cheaper and safer in the long run to prevent disease rather than cure them. Similar the earlier a disease is detected the better. This is why in addition to continuing to work on new drugs we also have to invest in research to improve detection and diagnosis of disease.
