      I don’t think I can give you a definate answer to this one, but perhaps vaccinations to stop people getting diseases in the first place – such as the smallpox vaccine which has now resulted in complete eradication of this disease across the world.

      That’s a tough question, I might go with penicillin because it was the fore runner of all the antibiotics and it’s still used today.
