Heroin is a type of drug called an opiod (same class of drug as morphine) and produces its effects mainly by binding to u-opiod receptors found in the brain. The action of heroin and other opiod drugs can be reversed by giving the drug Naloxone which blocks the heroin from binding to the u-opiod receptors, thereby stopping its effects.

Maybe one day. I know something like that has been developed for alcoholics, so they feel ill whenever they drink alcohol. I believe it was tried on George Best.
