Hi, a couple of years ago I got the chance to present my research, which I did during my PhD, to members of Parliament in the House of Commons. The event is called SET for Britain and runs every year and the idea of it is to support and encourage early-stage research scientists, engineers and technologists. It was an amazing experience (even if I was quite nervous), and I felt really proud of my work.

I haven’t been in to the House of Commons but I have been to a reception at the House of Lords. It was organised to promote the activities of FRAME, the charity that I work for. It gave us a chance to discuss how to replace animal experiments with people like politicians, scientists and officials who control animal experiments and medicines.

I’ve never been but I’d like to go if I got the chance. They do visits for school trips, so if you ever get the chance to go it is well worth doing – or so I’m told by people who have actually been.
