      Hi Chico,

I havent written too many long reports, I’m currently writing one and have gone over 12,000 words, but for a PhD thesis you are required to write 80,000 words.

I’m sure there are longer ones though!

      Hi Chico
My thesis for my PhD was the longest, I had forgotten how long so I just checked and it was 61,507 words! I didn’t write it all in one go though. I wrote a bit each day for about 6 months and then most of it in the last 2 months, in the garden, in cafes, at home or at the university but I enjoyed it. Now I don’t have to write anything anywhere near that long!

      Hi Chico,

I’ve just finished writing my PhD thesis (for my final exam before I become a Dr). It is about 300 pages long, so took quite a while to write. It does have lots of pictures in it though, so isn’t as full of text as you might think. Before my PhD I never really had to write anything that was too long.

      Hi Chico,

I’m just starting writing my PhD thesis… My lab mate’s was 100,00 words…. so as everyone else has said they are quite long!

I’ve also just finished writing a paper which including the supplementary information is roughly 20,000 words!

      Steve
