My biggest fear was (and still is) going blind. I take very good care of my eyes and always go for check ups and there’s never been anything wrong with them but the thought of not being able to see scares me massively.

A deep question deserves a deep answer.

Being forgotten. It’s part of the reason I got into science. To expand human knowledge and leave a legacy. If even a small one.

I had a traumatic experience with about a million spiders when I was 18. Worked at a water sports place at the side of a loch. The loch was used for rowing regattas. I was send to the umpire hut in the middle of it with a mop to clean it before a race. I started cleaning the floor and a million spiders (exaggeration for effect) fell from the ceiling. They were in my hair & all over me! I couldn’t get away because I was in the middle of the loch! Very traumatic!!!!!!! I have since tried to face my fear for the sake of my kids. Don’t want them to be needlessly frightened.
