Hi Albert,
I studied Biology,Chemistry and French for my A levels. I then went onto read Biomedical Science for my undergraduate degree. After that, I had to do a professional course with an assessment so I could get my license to practice as a Biomedical Scientist.
I also have to attend courses, read a few Science magazines to keep my registration and also keep up to date with the developments that take place in Science. But this isn’t add demanding AF my undergraduate degree. It complenents my day to day job.
I went through the Australian School system, not the UK one, so my experience will be a bit different from yours. In my final years at High School I studied Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English, Music, French.
The first 2 years of my University course was like Sandra’s ie the course I took split at year 3, into either Biomedical Science (like Sandra) or Applied Science. I took Applied Science, but (just to be contradictory) worked in Hospitals for a while once I graduated! Eventually I went onto do my Masters in Science and my Doctor of Philosophy – once I worked out which field I wanted to work in. It took me a long time to be sure about this – but it’s too important a decision to rush, isn’t it?
Went to a primary then secondary state school in Doncaster (the same one as Louis from One Direction actually)
Did GCSE’s in English, Maths, Science, History, Tech, Businesss Studies and Classical Civilisation. Then did 3 A levels in Chemistry, Physics and Maths.
I went to Glossopdale Community College Secondary school and sixth form. I have 10 GCSEs: maths, double science, english language, english lit, french, music, business studies, geography and IT.
I did 4 A levels: maths, biology, chemistry and English literature. I also have an AS level in critical thinking.
I worked quite hard at school but also made sure I had lots of fun and did lots of activities outside school. My school wasn’t a very “good” school but I got my grades because I wanted to go to university. I really enjoyed college when we had lots of parties!
