• Question: What is your opinion on homeopathy and whether it should be on the NHS or not?

      There is no valid scientific base for homeopathy, and thus it should not be available on the NHS. This does not prevent people from using it if they wish to, of course.

      I think more studies should be done. Some people insist that it works, but many experiments say that it doesn’t. Perhaps the “placebo effect” helps patients- therefore if it is really helping them, by a real effect or by a placebo effect, then think we should consider putting these treatments on the NHS! If it eases somebodys pain, then that’s a good thing!!!

      The only basis for homeopathy is the placebo effect, as the ‘science’ behind it is very flawed. I don’t believe it should be available on the NHS as it is valuble time and money that could be spent on effective treatments. But I think it does help a minority of people and shouldn’t be discounted in cases where other pain treatments have failed.
