Hi Sofia, interesting question… I would say yes, because to a great extent we live by example so we affect the lives of people around us by the example we give them. Parents of course have a greater influence because they shape the habits of their children to some degree so if people are brought up eating home prepared balanced diet they will be more likely to carry that life style to adult life. These habits of course have a great influence on our health. There are more straight forward things like smoking, where it has been shown that passive smoking, meaning the inhalation fo smoke from other people’s smoking can also be damaging.
