I would yes, for certain medical procedures. Cloning of skin and organs with specific properties properties would definitely help medicine.
Before it happens, I assume the medical world will need to have a debate on the ethical consequences and determine a set of rules.
Perhaps. There is a discussion around cloning specific body parts, such as new organs. Rather than cloning an entirely new you when you get ill! There was a recently published study that successfully cloned rats for 25 generations, and the rats were as healthy and lived as long as normal rats!
Other than medicine, there’s talk among conversationalists (they try to stop animals from going extinct) about using cloning to bring animals back from extinction! Like the Woolly Mammoth!
We are already able to print out new organs like kidneys, using 3D bioprinters. Though its in its early stages, it may be more promising than cloning because its convenient and there’s less of an ethical dilemma!
