Started as a big ball of gas, light years across, then this gas started to collapse and come together. The gas came together in pockets form larger more massive areas. With the most massive at the center of the ball of gas as it has the most gravity. These pockets were gas was coming together would eventually consume the majority of the gas in the cloud and form planets!
