• Question: Why have humans always been obsessed with the prediction of things to come in the future? It's been proven that the methods used are completely useless. They've all been disproved, but that still doesn't stop humans going to somebody to predict/ tell their future?

We humans are funny things, we are always trying to predict things or look for patterns where there might be none. Some people think that they can predict the future and they sometimes exploit people who believe them.

Your right, there is no scientific evidence supporting the ability to predicting the future and lots disproving it. Unfortunately, not everyone bothers to look at the evidence.

Sometimes science fiction can be scarily close at predicting things that have later been invented. ( Some examples are here http://www.tested.com/tech/concepts/460223-futurists-were-right-10-predictions-made-sci-fi-writers-came-true/ ). Of course these authors aren’t claiming to have seen the future though and the inventions may have been influenced by the books.
