I have held a species of tree frog that had been captive bred at the University Museum in Manchester. The species was at that point extinct in the wild. So, I was holding one of the few remaining members of a species, that was on the brink of extinction. Thankfully, the captive breeding programme has continued to be successful, and they hope to release the species back into its natural habitat one day.
