• Question: if you can only do one more scientific experiment or discovery what would it be?

      This is a cruel question! Take away our experiments and what are we??? 😛 I guess I’d like one last trip to Diamond to collect X-ray diffraction data. It’s always a fascinating place to be and it’s hard not to get excited when you get there. They do school visits and open days too, so try convince your teacher to take you on a trip there 🙂 You can find more information here:

      Oooo tough question! I’d like to go to Diamond Light Source and shine lasers on a crystal and see if I can watch the atoms move as they change because they absorb the light! If we can understand how this works, we can make better devices which respond to light and hopefully one day you might find one of them in your mobile phone!

      I think I’d start on something really big and life changing like trying to solve nuclear fission. I’m going to cheat a little bit because some experiments can go on for years and years so I’d just refuse to say my experiment was finished!
