There are loads of very different jobs you can do in science. It is a very broad subject with many different branches. I work in drug discovery which involves chemistry, biochemistry and pharmacology but you could study Zoology and work with animals or physics and design space ships or computer science and build robots! Science also gives you excellent transferable skills like problem solving so a degree in science can help you with jobs outside of it.

There are too many jobs to list! To get an idea, a good place to start is to look around at all the things around you. Who designed them? Are they the best they could be? How could they be better? There will be a scientist somewhere working on nearly everything you see.

There are many many jobs available in science. The people in the Diamond Zone work in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geology and Palaeobiology! I think the most important thing if you want to have a career in science is to follow your interests. Employers in many areas like to employ people who have studied science for the problem solving skills that you develop so don’t worry too much about the details yet and do what you enjoy!

Wow…..this is a big question. There are so many facets of science that are crucial in some many areas of work. It might be easier answering what areas of work do not include science. My advice is go and talk to your science teachers, as they will have a splendid handle on potential careers.
