I count myself very lucky as I really do love my job. I can’t think of anything else I’d rather be doing and I pretty much get to do my hobby as a day job. Of course it is important to have other interests outside of work too (otherwise we’d all go crazy!) but you spend so much time in work that I think its a real privilege to be able to do something you enjoy. I would be sad if there came a point when I was unable to do it any more.

My job means a lot to me as I get paid to do something I enjoy and feel passionate about. I would find it very difficult to do something I didn’t enjoy. I suppose I am pretty lucky.

I do really enjoy my job – I get to spend every day doing what I want to do (as long as it’s related to the chemistry that I study) and it’s really interesting. I also have some great friends at work, which means that no day is boring!
I think I’d find it really difficult to come into work every day and motivate myself if I didn’t enjoy it – that’s the only problem of not having anybody to tell you what to do – you have to have a lot of self discipline!
It doesn’t mean that I won’t change my job at some point – I think it’s really important to try lots of different things.
