Time travel is in theory possible but only travelling forward in time by travelling at speeds close to the speed of light. This means that people not travelling at the speed of light would experience time at a different rate and you would effectively have travelled forward in time.

Only palaeontologists can time travel through the samples we collect from past worlds. Otherwise, time travel is not possible.

As Daren said, imagine you had a twin who got into a spaceship and travelled in the universe at nearly the speed of light for 20 years while you waited on earth. When he gets back, time would have passed far slower for him because of quantum effects, so he’ll think he’s been away for less time, so he’ll be slightly younger than you, so he’s sort of jumped forward in time.
It’s a lot of effort though! I’d rather have a tardis!
