      These are mostly not diseases caused by pathogens, etc. I think you are asking about heredity (genetic) disorders (such as Down Syndrome) or conditions cased by incorrect drugs/chemicals being exposed to the foetus during key times in development. This is why pharmaceutical drug testing is so extensive these days to prevent disasters like the Thalidomide scandal in the 1950’s and 1960’s that caused so many problems to unborn children. I would imagine that Daren would give a much more comprehensive answer than me.
