I didn’t learn any German at school, so it would have to be French. But both are useful languages to know, and I regret not learning German earlier.

I learnt both French and German at school and I found German a lot easier to grasp. Although they do weird things with changing sentences around depending on the tense! I’ve found French more useful as an adult though as I sometimes go and do experiments in Grenoble in the south of France (an amazing place right in the Alps).

I know a little French and no German, so I’ll have to opt for French. I have to admit languages aren’t my strong point and I struggle when we have to visit the synchrotron in Grenoble.

I prefer German because I’ve learnt it for longer and I found it a bit easier because I couldn’t roll my Rs in French! I really enjoyed learning it in school though.

I prefer Danish, as I can then speak to my Mum, who is from Denmark 🙂
