• Question: what psychological approach do you prefer when experimenting on how fast people do things mentally?

      Good question

      One needs to give sets of similar problems, minimum 20 more if possible Desirable to manipulate difficulty : a hard and easy set
      AND
      Desirable to manipulate speed pressure: one set rewarded for speed one for accuracy.

      Speed accuracy relations are important
      If person and mental problem are fixed..
      more accurate means slower
      Otherwise
      easier tasks are faster are both more accuratte
      more able people are both faster and more accurate
