I get about £16k a year + £1.5k a year from voluntary teaching works. I don’t need to pay taxes as a PhD student, however, so this money goes a long way.

I am a Band 6 in the NHS so my current position can earn £30,401 – £37,267 depending on years of experience.

I’m a self funded PhD student so I earn absolutely nothing in that respect! As a postgraduate demonstrator I earn £18 per hour and as an outreach ambassador I earn anything between £8-£18 per hour, depending on the activity I’m providing. At the hospital I’m a band 2 on the Agenda for Change framework. Can’t wait for graduation so I can get myself a well paid job! 😉
