Eleanor Roosevelt is quoted to have said “well behaved women rarely make history” so she would be my role model when I’m at work. This quote isn’t about being naughty, it’s about positively questioning what we do and why we do it and that’s the basis of all science!!!

Hmmm, I’ve never really thought about that before. The first person to spring to mind would be my PhD supervisor as he epitomises a successful scientist: a Professor in his field, hard-working, diligent, polite, kind, supportive, academically excellent, well-respected…the list goes on! He demonstrates how you don’t have be sneaky or underhand in academia to be powerful or successful – he’s one of the nicest people I know!
