• Question: Hi Dave, our chat earlier you told me that 'we know that Inter-alpha-inhi bitor is also involved in asthma...' Do you think that this is something that people should be more aware of, do you think that other join-related diseases could be connected?

Hi Harry – great question – I don’t think that IaI (short for Inter-alpha-inhibitor) is causing arthritis or asthma, I just think it is involve in our bodies response to them.

Because we have quite a lot of IaI, and it circulates in blood, IaI gets pretty much every where in the body.

I’d love more people to be aware about how important IaI is, but we make around 25,000 proteins, and they are all important in their own special way!
