      I had to google to check my answer for this one… sorry to my human physiology lecturers! Skin is made up of layers of different sorts of cells. However, I did remember that the skin can be considered the largest human organ – amazing right?

      Hi Deer389end,

      Skin is made up of different layers of cells. The outer layer is is called keratinocytes, which is made up of tough proteins like keratin (also the material in hair and nails).
