      there are many different causes of leukaemia and also different types of leukaemia, so it’s tricky to answer your question. Radiation and genetics can be causes and leukaemia can affect both adults and children. As with all cancers we tend to think of them as a disease caused by faults in the DNA that cause cells to divide uncontrollably.

      Do you know someone with leukaemia?Just in case this is relevant, I’ve found this website that offers lots of really great information on the sorts of cancers that kids and young people get (fortunately cancer in children is rare): http://www.childrenwithcancer.org.uk/resources.
