      I have no idea about this-I think some people in the Navy are scientists, but I don’t really know for sure.

    My husband was in the RAF for 20 years and we also have a lot of navy and army friends. Most of my military friends did engineering rather than science as their degrees, but being in the navy definitely involves scientific principles. What I mean by this is that you have to constantly problem solve – you have a question, you measure something then you find the answer. This logical process is very much part of military life and so the skills you learn as a scientist can be applied.
