• Question: What would you say is the most useful piece of equipment you have in your laboratory, and why?

      The furnaces – we use them every day and without them we would never make anything just because of the sort of materials I make. Actually the material I make most often is done at 90 degrees C so you could make it in a normal oven!

      After that, the x-ray diffractometers because we have to check what we’ve made to make sure it is right and this is the quickest way for crystal solids. 🙂
