In the scientific world I would quite like to be Richard Feynmann. He was a Nobel prize winning physicist who had a fantastic ability to make physics understandable. He has a couple of really interesting semi-autobiographical books that recount odd stories of his life and how even scientists have time for fun (even if his idea of fun was safe-cracking and stealing people’s secrets). I like the fact that he explains that he found it really difficult to understand some of the physics he was taught. I figure if someone like him could eventually win such a prestigious prize, then someone like me should be able to at least get a PhD and have fun whilst doing it.

If I could be anyone then I think I’d go for quite an odd choice, I’d like to be someone like Joey Essex, I don’t often watch the only way is Essex, but of the snippets I’ve seen I can never understand how he manages to seem so oblivious to things that I take for granted. I think I take all the things I have learnt throughout my life for granted and maybe a day in the shoes of someone who doesn’t seem to have learnt much about anything would be an eye opener.

If I could be anyone I would be my husband. I think it would benefit me to see the world from his eyes and learn more about how he thinks – plus cool to see myself from his perspective.

A scientist I would want to be is Andrew Wakefield (I’ve said this already elsewhere, but it would be awesome to be him and to admit to the public that his study on the MMR vaccine that said it caused autism was unethical and unfounded. I think this would save many lives by better informing parents deciding to vaccinate their kids).

I think I’d like to be a Neanderthal (but keeping my Homo sapiens mind and knowledge) so I could witness what the world was like when they were around.

As far as just for giggles is concerned…I’d like to be my cat.

HH The Dalai Lama. He loves science, but is very wise and knowledgable about many things, but the best part is he is very modest and humble about it all. All the photos I have seen of him he appears to be truly at peace and happy in the world and I would love to be like that.
