I started my undergraduate degree in 2007, so you could say 7 years. But I have always studied some science in school so I think I have always been a scientist. I was always questioning and wanting to know and understand things even before then. When I was about 2 I became curious by a potted plant so I ate it. I turned green and keeled over. These days I have learnt that putting things in your mouth isn’t the best way to test them.

I started my degree way back in the last millenium so probably longer than you’ve been alive! Scary thought for me – since 1999 offically but I was experimenting long before that 🙂

I started studying Chemistry in 2005, and when my degree finished I began my PhD – so I guess 9 years this September

        Hello,
I have been a scientist for as long as I can remember. I think I was about 5 when I realized that the world around me was amazing and I wanted to know how everything worked! I started off being interested in geology…fossils and minerals…then astronomy, then chemistry…now just about everything!
Even when I was an entertainer/magician/radiopresenter my mind never switched off…I was never not a scientist…I just wasn’t working as one. I think being a scientist is not just about your job…it’s also the way you see the world around you.
Thank you for your question 🙂
