No, I must admit that the outfit was for a previous project last year. It is a full body suit (it even goes over shoes) which is required if you work in a clean room. The room can’t have any dust or dirt that might contaminate the ultra clean crystal wafers.

In my current project if I go into the lab I have to wear a white lab coat and the safety goggles. Sometimes I use chemicals that are harmful to the skin and wear skintight blue gloves to prevent getting it on my hands.

What I’m wearing in the picture?

That is my lab coat and goggles. I don’t normally wear graphite powder allover my face and hands. I do normally wear a lab coat when I’m doing experiments, but not in the office. I have a special lab coat that seals right up to my neck for when I’m doing work with cancer-causing materials to keep me protected, and then I wear 3 pairs of gloves!

I have two pairs of lab goggles. One are normal and I wear when I have contacts in. The others I am wearing there are specially made up glasses with rims on them that I can swap for my everyday glasses when I go into the lab. They are like old style glasses because they are HUGE, but I need them as they keep my eyes safe.
