the sky is blue because of how the molecules in the atmosphere reflect the white light coming in from the sun. the white light from the sun has all of the colours of light in, and hits the molecules of gas in the atmosphere (a special kind of oxygen). the molecules of gas and dustt in the atmosphere, which are way to tiny to see, bend the light and slow it down. then it goes at a slightly different direction, and comes towards us as blue light.
