Question: how many medicines have you tested and have any of them been wrong?

I have tested lots of different medicines – tablets, injections, inhalers and even herbal medicine. Thankfully none have been ‘bad’ – except for the ones we make ‘bad’ ourselves!
Sometimes we need to know how long a medicine will last once it’s ready and put into its box. So we try to make the medicine ‘go off’ by heating it up/making it humid over a period of time. We then test it lots – sometimes several times over a few years – to see how long it might take for the medicine to ‘go off’. Once we know that information we can put a ‘use by’ date on the new medicines so people know how long they can use it for safely.
