a lot of the compounds I look for are classed as carcinogens. Hopefully this will stop them getting into our food and tap water. I have a student working with me now looking to detect cancer causing compounds in toys and children’s clothes.

Oooh I wish! My research doesn’t have a lot to do with curing cancer unfortunately, but hopefully what I’m doing will be useful to people regardless!
