The climate is changing because of the quantities of oil, gas and coal that are burned everyday, and the forests that are cleared are upsetting the planets natural balance and increasing the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. The gases act like a greenhouse and prevent some of the solar radiation the earth receives from the sun from escaping back into space. This causes the upper layers of the earths atmosphere and the oceans to warm up. This warming changes how much water vapour can be carried in the air and changes the way global air streams move – so changing the climate and the daily weather patterns in different parts of the earth from what was normal.
