I spent quite a lot of time doing teaching during my PhD and I really enjoyed it. I always felt that my favourite science teachers were the ones who had done real jobs in the industry. My current plan is to work quite a few more years in the industry and then one day I might actually go into teaching

LOL – I became a teacher first – Biology and Science – to improve my communications skills as I was quite shy. I taught for three years in England and Papua New Guinea before starting my PhD research in Agricultural Hydrology. The skills I learned as a teacher I still use to this day
