The way to generate electricity is to turn a generator or turbine, that moves lots of wires past magnets which makes a current flow through the wires. This can be done in many ways. There are coal, gas, and nuclear plants which use fuel to heat water up and the super heated steam turns big turbines… There are wind turbines that use wind energy to turn the blades which turn turbines. Solar (or sun) energy uses light energy on solar panels which changes light energy into electrical. Then there are other renewable forms of energy like geothermal which uses the heat from inside our planet to heat water and turn steam turbines.
