The worst effects of climate change will be extremes of rainfall and flooding. As the atmosphere warms it will make rainfall heavier and less reliable.

The worst effects unfortunately happen in countries and to people who are poorest and least able to cope. This really isn’t fair because it’s us rich countries that have caused the greatest damage.

Mass floods and droughts in poor countries that rely on farming and animals cause big big problems. This can lead to lots of problems even for us at home, especially if it leads to things like civil wars or lots of people left without homes. food or water.

Also, warmer sea temperatures make the water expand and sea levels rise, which causes the biggest problems on little islands (like Britain!)
