• Question: Does it help if I protect polar bears

      Absolutely. Every creature has its place in the ecosystem. If we loose one, it impacts on all the others (and also then eventually on us). So not only are they important to us emotionally (because they are inspiring and beautiful) but they are also important to us as part of the complex ecosystem that we are a part of too.

      Polar bears are no less important than any other animal IMHO

      I think helping protect the environment will help all animals, but especially polar bears since they are very vulnerable

      If we do no do anything then they will disappear – if they will survive in the wild is questionable

      As the other scientists have covered, unless we protect the polar bears and take action against global warming they will most likely die out (become extinct). So if we want to prevent them from dying out, then protecting polar bears certainly helps.

      This also applies to lots of other species of animals, plants and micro-organisms that are at-risk because of global warming.

      yes definitely! the others have covered this quite well, but it would be great to protect an endangered species like the polar bear. If the polar bear dies it will affect other animals/plants in the food chain that it is in too.
