• Question: Does global warming or climate change have a posotive affect?

      There are some positive things about global warming, but in general the impacts are more negative. For instance we are likely to see more flooding and droughts, and less land suitable for farming crops in the future.

      Some people hear the words “global warming” and think “oh that’s good we never get warm weather here” but actually warming temperatures usually means extreme weather that’s hard to predict… Which isn’t very good at all!

      For some parts of the world yes, as they may get better rainfall in the future and grow more crops

      Not really, because the current climate change is caused by human activity. If it was a natural change it could have some positive benefits. But it doesn’t.

      For some small areas of the world there could be positive changes of the current global warming yes. For example in some places they may be able to grow different crops and be able to produce more food, which could be a very positive effect.

      However, we don’t know how long these positive effects will last. Also, the overall effects of human-caused climate change on the Earth are definitely negative, so it is still really important that we do something about climate change!
