Thats a question my parents and many of my family ask me – so here goes and I hope I get the answer right – A development specialist is a person that takes their specific skills sets.experience, in my case Agricultural Science and tries to use those skills to help developing countries prepare large multi million dollar projects to help solve some of the economic and environmental challenges they face in their development. For me specifically its helping design new programmes that address the impacts of climate change on crop and livestock production – better than doing pure science as you work closely with the farmers you are trying to help
