Plants take in energy from the Sun (during photosynthesis) and use this energy to make the things that it uses as fuel to survive. Humans can’t absorb the Sun’s energy in the same way, so we have to eat things (like plants!) to get this energy for ourselves. Our bodies are made up of about 60% water, but we lose this water by sweating and even breathing, so we have to replace it by drinking.
Hope that helps! But if not, someone in the “Biochemistry” zone might be able to give you a more detailed answer.
