The need to solve particular problems has really been my motivating factor.

Oooh, lots of things, I normally think of my best ideas when I’m not actually at work and trying to think about science! Sometimes when I’m distracted by something else I will think of a good experiment to do! 😀

That’s a great question! Sometimes it’s hard to come up with new ideas.

To begin with a lot of the ideas were really thought of my boss but now I’m starting to have lots of ideas of my own! It was really my boss’ idea to look at orange peel and pine trees ??

A lot of scientists write about their research and sometimes I’ll get an idea from reading those that might be useful. I would go and give it a try in the lab. Sometimes it works and that’s brilliant! Most of the time it doesn’t but that’s OK too – I’ll think of more ideas.

Sometimes it’s the really crazy ideas that are the best ones!

I like helping people and teaching them about pollution and the ways in which we can stop causing pollution
