That’s a difficult question to answer because it changes all the time. It depends on how windy it is (if it’s not windy the pollutants build up), how much sunshine there is (smog can build up if it’s sunny) and how many cars, lorries and buses are driving.
But there are websites that can help – take a look at http://www.scottishairquality.co.uk to see what’s happening here in Scotland – this tells you how much pollution is in the air on a scale from 1 to 10 (1 is good, 10 is very bad).
