Great question, Minnie33! I think if we all used my theory we would not see so much plastic waste on our planet. The new plastics I want to make will be biodegradable (I hope!) That means that they will break down naturally in the environment. The plastics we use now can take hundreds of years before they start to break down so we see lots of plastics in rubbish piles and floating in the sea!

I think if we use my theory too we would use less crude oil to make plastics. Now we make most of our plastics from crude oil – a thick black liquid that contains lots of carbon that we dig out of the ground and took millions of years to form. Using crude oil is partly to blame for climate change as when we use crude oil we produce lots of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases. So hopefully if we could use my idea we will have less effect on our planet!

Unfortunately it’s not ready yet 🙁 Maybe one day!
